For the second year running, Plaza Matadero becomes the best open-air screen in the city, with the best selection of completely unreleased independent films in Madrid. Twenty films, coming from the best festivals -Locarno, Cannes, Berlin, Toronto and San Sebastián-, all preceded by their critical and public success and still unreleased on Madrid's screens.

Volcano (Вулкан)

After several strange coincidences, Lukas, a translator who works for OSCE, strands in the southern Ukrainian town of Beryslaw. As involuntary guest of his strange host Vova, Lukas is confronted with a totally new universe, in which life seems to be completely detached from any kind of structure. Despite his initial animosity, Lukas gets more and more fascinated by Vova as well as by his daughter Marushka - and finally starts his own quest for a long ago lost happiness.

A brightly shot carefree movie where problems and reality are kept just on the fringe of the storyline. Two best friends are having fun riding their bikes in San Jose. When they can pick out an old car from one of the friends family lot they are in for a nasty surprise. However as adolescents do they deal with the situation by having more fun with their friends. Meanwhile they turn one of the old cars into an Uber taxi.
